- A synthetic material made from a wide range of organic polymers.

In 1907 Leo Baekeland invented the first fully synthetic plastic - Bakelit. A new material that contains no natural molecule. Nowadays, each second or third product in developed countries contains plastic. An artificial element which not only never degrades, but rather fragments into ever smaller pieces until it can’t be seen with the naked eye.

PLASTI-fication is Avner interpretation for the Low-Cost, consumption society we live in. A naked man thrown into an unnatural, alienated, restricted environment - a plastic bag. The choice for an artificial light was not a coincidence and emphasizes Avner’s statement. Tearing up the plastic bag at the end is the solution. Let us free ourselves from artificial, unhealthy materials. For ourselves. For the environment. For ALL generations.

The series is participative project between 3 artists: Annabella Maneljuk (Film) und Agnes von Rogister (Drawings) and was presented at the SP CE open ateliers at Kösk  (both in 2019) and took part of the GGConnection festival on 25.02.2023
